Elegant and effective. This image is one that highlights the idea of how one might break rules. Its centred form is one that challenges the rule of thirds. Its abstract nature offsets contemporary ideas of placement and in so doing allows movement away from rules. Light and shadow also allow create a sence of mode and lends itself to contemplation of possibilities.

I particulaly like this image. It is one which captures the moment of movement while at the same time highlights the idea of tonality. It is simple and effective.

This is an interesing image because it highlights what can be done with a willing participant you meet on the street. The conversion to B&W allowed the background to be pretty dark. This was mainly because I had asked the subject to stand in front of a dark wall which I knew would turn black once it had been converted to B&W. The overall effect of this was it creates an image which is more reminisent of a studio image than it does a street image. The crop itself is both unusual and effective highlighting the idea of the face without bring in the head. Overall I really, it was a bit of an achivement for me in terms of asking someone in the street if I could photograph them

Shot in natural light, this image is all about colour and how a crop aids in the overall feel of an image. This is a single plant, the different colours are the effect of the sunlight hitting leaves at differing angles. Moreover this was shot at around 2pm which is usually the worst time to shoot things. Yet this image highlights the idea that you can achive interesting shots, even in harsh unforgiving light.
